This weeks PGA Tour event is again being played at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. This 1926 creation is the only Donald Ross designed course to host a regular event on Tour.
Who should win?– Webb Simpson 10/1
Simpson is the odds-on favorite to win due to his extraordinary performances at this event over the past seven years. He has one win and has been in the top-3 the past three years. Simpson has been quietly consistent over the last few years and is currently the 19th ranked player in the world. He is accurate off the tee, middle of the pack in SG approach but ranks well in putting, scrambling, and around the green.
Who could win? – Hideki Matsuyama 14/1, Louis Oosthuizen 16/1, Will Zalatoris 28/1, Jason Kokrak 22/1
Of these four players, I might put a bet on Zalatoris to break through this week. He is remarkably consistent and plays well on tough tracks. Matsuyama is on a great run but has been playing a lot of golf lately and might run out of gas this week. The same might hold for Oosthuizen, but hard to argue with the great form he has shown in the past couple of months. Kokrak is very weak around the green but has shown he can win by compensating with his long driving, strong approach stats, and top 5 putting.
Who will win? – Will Zalatoris
Longshots to consider – Tommy Fleetwood 45/1, Matthew Wolf 45/1, Rickie Fowler 45/1
None of these three appear to be in great form at the moment, but they all have something to prove.
